Check the tide chart

If you came to Miyajima to see floating shrine and Torino gate, the things is you need to check tide chart of there in advance, so you can enjoy Miyajima with perfect look.

Itsukushima shrine has two face when tide is low and high. You can be touched with seeming look of floating Toru gate and shrine at high tide and you can see the secret of floating shrine’s secret in low tide.

Tide condition back and forth to each peak with 6 hours cycle.

You can check tide chart in advance and if tide is higher than 250cm, shrine seeming on the water, and lower than 70cm, you can see the hidden part of it.

Low tide: You can see the secret of floating shrine.

How to check the tide chart？

This Miyajima Tourist Association website is very handy, you check imagine similar condition how it looks. (They have English version, but not English tide chart.)

If tide is Under 100 cm, you can get close Torii gate by walk in general.

If tide is upper than 250 cm, you can seeming the shrine floating on the sea.
