Another good place to go in Hatsukaichi city next to MIYAJIMA (Itsukushima) Island

If you like climb up small mountain by your foot or bicycle, the Gokurakuji Temple is good place to go for a hald day trip. Gokurakuji Temple is located on top of Gokurakuji mountain (Gokuraku=Heaven) which sea level is 693m(2274 ft.)

Total time is about 4 hours walk from JR Hatsukaichi station, you can also enjoy walk through a small Hatsukaichi town.

I went there by car and came across some runners and cyclinist climbing up for training. I have tried once by my bicycle and it’s very tough but I know its deserve to worth it not only self achievement.

You can see and enjoy the view of Setouchi Inland Sea from top, it is fantastic.
